FAQ - Booking Surf Retreat Package

The Surf Retreat Packages on the website is for 6 days and 5 nights, but I would like to stay shorter or longer. Is that possible?

Yes, absolutely! Just let us know your arrival date and how long you'd like to stay, and we'll create a customized offer and special pricing tailored just for you!

How to book or check my preferred arrival dates for the Surf Retreat package?

Simply chat with us on whatsapp us or make use of the contact form on our website to check your preferred dates.

What's included in the Surf Retreat price?

Your surf package includes daily breakfast, guided surf lessons, daily coaching sessions, board rental, mid-week video analysis, and video content. You’ll also enjoy daily housekeeping and complimentary WiFi. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and hot water showers. Plus, we offer parking, a swimming pool, and airport pick-up for your convenience!

What is not included in the Surf and Stay Package price?

We also offer optional activities and excursions to complement your surf package. You can add yoga sessions, in-house massages, Bali sightseeing trips, scooter rental or transportation, all of which we can arrange for you.

How do I pay the Surf Retreat Package?

We accept a variety of payment options (eg. Indonesian bank transferal, iDeal or European bank transferal, Hong Kong bank transferal, Payme/FPS or WISE transfer)

Should I have insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend getting international travel and health insurance from your home country before your trip. While we prioritize safety and our guides will do everything to keep you safe while surfing, we do not provide insurance. Having your own coverage ensures that, in case of any unexpected incidents, you can receive the best care without added stress. Please keep your insurance details handy during your surf trip.

Is breakage of surfboard included in the price?

No, damage or loss of surf equipment is not covered in the price.
We rent the boards from the local surf shack and they have their own damage costs which varies from IDR 50K for a lost fin to IDR 2 million for a broken board.

I am traveling alone, do I share the room and surfing lessons?

You’ll enjoy your own private room—no need to share. We’re all about giving solo travelers a unique, personalized experience. Enjoy your privacy, and when you're ready, there are plenty of chances to connect with fellow surfers and the local community—it's totally up to you!

What are the Terms and Conditions?

YOUR RESERVATION
Please be informed that by making an online reservation for your stay at our surf retreat you accept and agree to our following terms & conditions. The online booking through our website is binding and a full deposit payment of the total booking sum will be collected when you make the booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY
You can cancel your reservation free of charge minus a handling fee of USD 50 up to 60 days before arrival. Any booking that is cancelled between 60 and 7 days before arrival will be refunded with 50% of the total amount of the booking. Any booking that is cancelled later than 7 day before arrival will be charged with 100%. If you arrive late or decide to leave early, the nights not spent will not be refunded.

HOW TO CANCEL OR CHANGE THE DATE?
If you wish to cancel you reservation or change the date of your arrival, please send an e-mail to weare@goodvibessurfclub.com. Please note that your cancellation must be confirmed by us.

HOUSE RULES
Check-In time is 14:00 and Check-out time 12:00, please let us know your approx. time of arrival.

Our quiet hours are between 23:00 and 06:00. Pets are not allowed on the property.

FAQ - Location

Are there shops & restaurants nearby?

Kedungu is an emerging surf town that still retains the charm of a local village. You'll find a handful of cafés and restaurants in the area, with new spots opening up regularly. We offer exclusive discounts for our Good Vibes guests at local Kedungu businesses, including restaurants and spas!

If you're in the mood for shopping, spas, bar-hopping, or a greater variety of dining options, a quick trip to Canggu is the way to go. It’s just a 20 minute ride by car or motorbike from Kedungu!

Can we arrange the airport pick up and other transport?

Yes, our surf package includes airport pick-up! However, pick-up from alternative locations or dates, airport drop-off, and transportation to other destinations upon check-out are not included. But don’t worry—we can help you arrange those options!

Is scooter rental included?

No, scooter rental is not included in the price. But we can help you rent one while you’re here!

How to book spa and massages?

We can assist you in arranging spa treatments in the area, and you can also book massages and spa services right in your villa. Plus, we offer exclusive Good Vibes discounts at the spa! :)

FAQ - Surfing in Kedungu

How are the waves in Kedungu?

At our home break, the waves are mostly gentle and easy to ride, but there are also some fast and tricky waves nearby, especially on days with higher swells. Most of the spots we surf are semi-reef breaks, featuring a mix of rocky bottoms and sandy sections.

Beginner surf lessons take place in a shallow inlet close to shore, which is well protected from larger waves and strong currents. It’s important that you know how to swim and can put your head underwater for a few seconds. For kids under 10 years old, we recommend booking a private 1:1 package. Please note that surfboard rental is included for the duration of the lesson only.

Where do we surf and how are the surf lessons organized?

We typically surf at our home break, Kedungu Beach, or nearby spots. For your private lesson, we select waves based on your skill level, ensuring you're always riding waves that match your abilities and goals.

The timing for our morning and afternoon sessions varies according to the tides, conditions, and the levels of our surfers. We set our surf schedule the day before to get the most accurate forecast and make the most of the day.

Are the surfing levels suitable for beginners?

Yes! We have all levels of surfers come through here, from their very first time on a surfboard to improvers surfers. We can help you work on more advanced techniques and goals too.

I am not a good swimmer, can I still surf?

Absolutely! You don't need to be a strong swimmer to enjoy surfing with us. Our experienced instructors are always close by, guiding you and making sure you're safe at all times. We’ll start in shallow waters and focus on building your confidence, so you can relax and enjoy the waves. Safety is our top priority, and we've helped many beginner swimmers fall in love with surfing!

What is the water temperature like?

The water temperature in Bali is tropical all year round, so perfect for bikinis and boardshorts. If you are cold easily, we recommend you to use a light wetsuit or rash guard to get you covered. Rashguard is recommended to protect you for sunburn.

What equipment will be provided?

We provide everything necessary for surfing, including surf boards and long-sleeved rash guards. All you need to bring are beach shorts or bikinis and a beach towel. We do also advise either a high SPF sun cream or a good quality zinc oxide sunscreen.

Is it safe to go surfing with kids?

Absolutely, our experienced ISA certified surf instructors are kids specialists! Surfing is for all ages. Our kids surf lessons are a safe way to introduce your child to the world of surfing. To provide full safety each child will be taught in a one-on-one lesson and receive private surf instructor.

The most important requirement is, that your child can swim and is comfortable in the water. Your surf guide will decide together with you as a parent and your child, if he/she will surf on an individual surfboard or will do tandem surfing together with the surf guide.

What if the waves or weather are bad on a day?

We always check the wave conditions first based on your skill level. If Kedungu isn’t surfable, we’ll take you to other nearby breaks for a wave check.

If the conditions are really poor—due to heavy rain, storms, large waves, or flat days—and we have to cancel the surf session, we unfortunately cannot provide a refund. But don’t worry! There are plenty of other fun activities to enjoy in Bali. Weather is part of the surfing experience, and we embrace that! ;)

Can I book more private surf sessions?

Absolutely! Daily surfing is included in your package. However if you wish to surf more, we do offer surf lesson for an additional fee, please contact us for price and availability.
